My wife and I are new to backpacking so we did a lot of researching when it came to tents. There were not many reviews on the Spitfire 2 that we found, but the Spitfire got great reviews. We took a chance on this one and I am happy to say that we made an excellent choice. We actually bought 2 of these; one for my wife and I and the other for our two boys. We had a Big Agnes ready to go in our cart but decided that these would be a better option, especially since we got both Spitfire 2s for less than the price of one Agnes. Since I am new to ultralight tents, I really have nothing to compare it to. But as far as tents go, this one seems pretty solid. Nearly all of the outside of it is screen mesh which makes it great for hot nights, and the fly works great when it gets a bit chilly. Remember though that this is a "3 Season" tent. Do not take this thing out in the winter. The weight was about as advertised, not bad at all for the price. Sure you could get an Agnes or North Face or some other fancy brand, but this thing rocks. The bears and squirels don't care what brand your tent is so why try and show off to them? If your going to be the only one sleeping in the tent then you will have ample room for yourself and all of your gear if you don't like leaving it outside. My wife and I are extremely happy with this purchase and look at Eureka in a new light. It's not just a Wal-Mart brand.
