I am 6.1 it is way to small for me even lying crossways both my head and my feet on the sleeping bag were touching the tent and therefore getting soaked. For some one 5'10 and under they should be alright. The rain fly covering the screen at the top is also small the lightest wind in a rainstorm causes it to give no protection.
In perfect conditions it may not be bad assuming you meet the height requirements but in perfect conditions a tarp would work also its the extra protection you are looking for. I was looking for something cheep for backpacking I only go 2 to 3 times a year on over night hikes I was disappointed in the tent and at all the false reviews that were on here at the time although it appears they are all gone now. A little larger and a full rain-fly would have made the world of difference.
